Is it worse to have a blowout on the front or the back end? I'm trying to find out so I can have a better idea of what to do. One of my tires is a little cut up from rocks, but I want to know if it would be better to have it on the front or back end.

I would think you'd want it on the back, so you'll still have steering and better braking, but I'm not sure. There are probably plenty of reasons you may not want it on the back, too.

if you have a blow out, you want it on the rear. if it's on the back you can still steer the vehicle. if it's on the front and blows out, you have a bigger chance of losing control. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

If the tire is cut bad enough that you really think there is a likelihood that it's going to blow, do yourself a favor and replace it. If it blew and caused an accident and someone got killed, you would never forgive yourself.

It's just cut in the tread blocks, nothing into the carcass or sidewall. It's not bad enough to replace, but I'm just being careful.

yeah, agreed... if it had to happen, the rear would be best. If its in the rear it'd prolly basically be like draggin ass. If its the front it might make u swerve one way or the other REALLY hard when it happens... possibly resulting in a high speed roll or some other really bad result.
