Blue Truck

I've had the 72 K10 since before we had any kids, now we have 3 (5, 3, 1.5) and I had been wanting to get something with a backseat for quite a while. Considered some Suburbans, looked at a 76 C30 crew cab with a 12V Cummins here in New Orleans, but it overheated on the test drive, so I passed. Then sometime in the fall of 2019 I found this truck on Facebook marketplace across the river from me in Harvey, LA. I made a trip to look at it and liked it, then a week later took my wife to see it and she liked it too, so we pulled the trigger. These pics are from the classified ad. I'll post more pics and info as I go.

That is a very sharp truck. Even better that it's a 76 crew cab.

Took the Blue Truck to Lake Bruin, LA for Labor Day weekend, about a 400 mile round trip from New Orleans. We actually drove north through Mississippi and crossed the Mississippi River at Natchez back into Louisiana. We camped for one night with the boys and met the rest of the family at an Air b&B on the lake for the remainder of the weekend.

Well, I decided on an SM465-NP205 swap with a Ranger Torque Splitter to get that overdrive gear. Been collecting parts, so far I have transmission, t-case, Ranger, clutch-brake pedal assembly, upper clutch pushrod, bell housing, and a clutch fork.

Where did you get your Ranger? It looks as though Advanced Adapters has discontinued it.
I got mine direct from AA, called them late last year and they said something about not being able to get Chevrolet input shafts, and that they only had 2 left on the shelf. Not sure if that was Ranger units or Chevy shafts... and then just last week I read an article that said AA had quit making the Ranger.

Sounds like you got lucky haha. I guess if I decide to go this route I will have to locate a used unit or a gear vendor.
