just got a droid... and this is the first and only app i see buying!!!!!
i wouldnt mind this app....

what u think?

That one "works" I have one and so far it seems good. Several times I have had connection issues that seem to go hand in hand with the cheap versions of the dongle. It's worth trying but a more expensive one might be needed.

Torque works good for the OBDII but the program is more for "foreign" cars I think. It works well enough for my 05 d-max. I have had several times that I have had codes that Torque didn't pickup that my handheld tuner/scanner did.

There are many options for customization that probably cure those problems, I just haven't done the customization.

gotcha.. yeah i know about the connection issues.. they say the plug isnt a true tight obd2 fit.. so you have to be carefull in plugging it in...im not worried about engine codes.. i have a code reader for that.. wanted it for the HP, air fuel, etc... acceleration times and all that stuff..so $20 for the adapter... $5 for the software... $25 is cheaper than the other kits i saw.. they were $250 and up.. due to the plug alone being $200!!!

I've used this one for several months now with satisfactory results....

Between family nad friends we have 6 of them now, $5 Torque app works great.

I've used it on...05 Trailblazer, 08 CTS, , 01 Dmax, 06 Dmax, 01 F150, 07 Mercedes Van, Lumina, etc. Has worked every time. Only thing I notice is sometimes if you leave it connected for longer term (more than half an hour) it will disconnect and you may have to reconnect it by shutting bluetooth off and back on again.

But as far as checking codes and getting live data and clearing codes I have never had a problem, works great, it even displays fuel rail pressure on the diesels.

first set was in settings.. it says the ecu reported that it supported those.. then their full wiget... here it is...
7 pics so gonna be 2 posts...

Are there any good ones out there that use iPhone, for us that are stuck in the Apple bubble?

Cool. So torque and that app will just automatically work together?

Torque is the DROID app, you have to buy the bluetooth adaptor to use it with any OBD2 vehicle. You have to pair the bluetooth devices the first time but after that they just work.

 i meant torque and that obd bluetooth adapter... Thanks! Going to order one of those up today!

dhcomp, there is a similar app for your fancy iphone, its called dynolicious (if I recall right) it also uses a bluetooth obd2 connector. I have a friend that has it and seems to like it.

^^^ What everyone else says... :pimp:

yup.. im liking this app.. MPG trip is kinda screwy... messing with different things.. but the point being of it being 1. cheap and 2. monitor the system...

for the $25 i have vested.. it is fun :thumb:

athough i got reamed yesterday.. i deserved it..

i wanted to check the 0-60, 0-100, 1/8th mile and 1/4 mile times... well i drive 60 miles to work... AC Expressway to rt 42... rt 42 to 295... 295 turns into 95.. all highway.. suck @ss part is I found 61mph the best speed for mpg.. 20.75mpg... but in a 65mph zone.. grrrrrrr...
anyway there is a scenic overlook on rt 295 past bordentown... so I went up there.. early in am.. 5:35am... stopped... meter read ready for all of them... i nailed it.. gave my 2008 silverado all the skinny pedal she had..... not many cars out.. bit dark... well the cop that was rolling up rt 295 didnt like that much... i saw him at last minute when i went to middle lane... and i kept looking forward.... he was trying to get my attention.. took him to swerve at me.. i looked at him and he chewed me out (with his windows up).. HAHAHAHAHAHAH
in honesty he should have pulled me over and reamed me.. and i would have told him he got me... the one time i d1ck around and get busted.. .LOL... oh well...
never got to look at the times.... they reset.... :(

wonder if there is an app that allows you to actually program the computer...
anyone know??? for android of course..

ben using the torque app with elm 137 for about a couple of years has worked on furd, chevys, toyotas, dodge and my caddy. its a great little gadget that doea the job of a more expesive scanner but i would really be intrested in what ^ he said.

After reading this thread I ordered this

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=120862484213

And the torque app for DROID. I have to agree with everyone else. I have zero complaints. It does a lot more than the cheaper readers out there. And all total I have maybe 25 bucks invested. I've tried it on several GM vehicles over the last few days with zero glitches.
