i am moving my fuel tank to inside the bed. my first idea was moving the original tank to the bed behind the tool box. recessed into the floor, and with a sub floor over the top to mount the spare tire on.

then i decided a late model burb tank would be better. its bigger (40 gal.) and it would have a fuel pump for converting to tbi later on.but then i measured and niether tank will fit down in the floor because of the body mounts that are inside the frame.

so i looked at some transfer tanks. but they dont have a sender, or a pickup tube. the biggest fuel cell i found in my price range is 32 gallons. i didnt see senders in them either.

but i found this on craigslist. 50 gallon. less than 12" deep. so i could move the tool box back, then mount the tank almost against the half cab bulkhead.
so i did some measuring. the tank/box combo is about 32" long. so that would make a 43" tire stick out about 6" out the back of the truck (the tail gate is going away) im think im ok with that.

anybody have any comments on this plan? or happen to know the most common boat sending unit output is?
i cant think of any issues with a boat tank
