body emblems

How do you take them off without braking them. I want to repaint the rig, but the emblems are in the way and I want to put them back when I'm done.

The front fender emblems are held on with nuts that must be removed from the back of the fender. At least on my 80, you have to remove the fenders to be able to get to the nuts, as there is no access from under the hood. As for the rear quarter emblems, they are a press fit on mine, meaning just a little pressure and I was able to remove them. I swapped the rear emblems from the Cheyenne emblems to the Silverado, and it was pretty easy.

New ones will look better with new paint. If you are going to invest in good paint job, then spring another few dollars for new shiny emblems. See LMC catalog

Just mask em thats what I did when I did my truck, seemed to have good results

try fishing line...run it behind the emblem with a lil, it should cut thru the adhesive and come off...
