I have a '71 K5 w/ 6" lift. I put gen2 Skyjacker springs in the front w/ longer shackles and am fairly happy with the suspension flex.

I am in the process of putting new (poly) body mounts in since the stock replacements only lasted a few years and the body twist has become very noticeable. After the body mounts, I plan on stiffening the body with a slider under the outside edge of the rocker. Haven't decided yet how to attach this slider (frame or body only), but hope that this will help the body flex I have been getting since cutting off the rocker boxes. Any opinions on the attachments??

Along the same lines, I have fought with the transfer case cross member forever. Every time I wheel it, the bolts from the cross member are loose. I have tried new bolts, nylon locking nuts, lock tite, and nothing keeps the bolts tight. I have also had to tighten the bolts at the motor cross member on numerous occasions. I believe the frame flexing is causing the bolts to loosen.

As I mentioned, the blazer is currently down for body stiffening, but I really don't know what to do about the frame. I'm sure that the body and frame work together and hope that stiffening the body will help, but would like to fix the ever loose Tcase bolt problem as well. Don't think that boxing the frame is the answer and am looking for some other ideas.

I've noticed that having my frame bare, how much it will flex on a twisting from side to side, without the t/c and middle body mount braces in it.
Those both have a triangulation effect as they are braced down/up to the top/bottom rails. I have removed the lower portion of the mid bodymount crossmember, and plan to triangulate it again to the lower frame rail. So I guess I would try to triangulate from one side to the other if possible, or at least from the middle to the frame rails on each side.

^^Yes, been thinking about switching the 205 out for a doubler which would give me an additional cross member. I swapped in a 32 gal gas tank and that added another cross member in the back, but didn't notice any difference w/ the Tcase bolts.

BTW, been watching your frame boxing project. Nice work.
