I just installed a 2" body lift and now my fan shroud hits my fan on the bottom. I knew this would be an issue but I was wondering how to go about fixing it. For now I just removed the lower half of the shroud but I'd like to know if I will have any cooling / heating issues if I run with no lower shroud? Also, would it just be better to remove the fan and go with an electric fan set up at this point?

Thoughts? Ideas?

I went electric when I ran into this problem. it gets around 100 degrees around here in the summer and the stock fan without a full shroud just couldn't keep up.

not sure if that'll be a problem where you are from, but your best bet is electrics once the fan is that far out of position wrt the radiator imo.

Trim the bottom of the shroud to clear the blade, this way you can reinstall the lower half.

Worst case is if it still doesn't cool well enough you have to buy an electric fan otherwise you save money.

Yeah, I'm going to try and trim it. If it doesn't work, I'll just install an electric at that time. I thought I could add a spacer between the two halves but the lower half won't drop any lower.

I've had 2 piece shrouds before and simply put spacers in between them to make up the difference.

I'll have to look at it again because I swear the lower wouldn't drop far enough to clear the fan. It must have been hung up on something.
