So does any one have the 1 inch ORD body lift and a mechanical clutch? What did you do to get your clutch to work? I am running the body lift because i want clearance for a doubler.

I run a 2 inch BL and only had to adjust the linkage all the way out. If you all ready installed it then you are aware of the shroud issues and wires?

I couldn't go more than 1 5/8" of body lift before the clutch started to become a problem.

have you already installed the bj...err bL? i hate em! but to clear a doubler, i'd do it.....reason i ask...watch ur steering rag joint...seen people mess em up..b/c the steering shaft didn't telescope!

my sub had a 3 inch and they welded and extention to make it work from clutch pedal to linkage.
i removed the 3 and went ord 1 and had to re adjust clutch rod on fork should not be an issue adjusting stock one for 1 inch.

Remove the clutch rod. Cut it in half. Get a piece of material that matches the diameter of the clutch rod and corresponds with the amount of your body lift, and weld it all back together. Re-install. :wink1:

x2 on lengthening the clutch rod and the rag joint. I solved the rag joint by using an aftermarket u-joint style and eliminated the coupler.

:D

I had enough adjustmant left on the stock clutch rod, just lengthened it to suit. That was with the ORD 1" BL on my '81 Jimmy. As mentioned, pay attention to stretching wires and particularly the fan shroud. I had to trim the lower section of shroud to keep the fan out of it...

Other than that, there were no issues.

yea, i forgot about the fan shroud, i think when/if i do my 2'' bl, i'm going to electric fans! i hate the way the shroud looks w/ bottom cut out, no offense, but all i've seen like that looks like a hack job, do you have any pics of yours? does it look.....tasteful?

With the 1" BL all I had to trim was a 2" wide strip about 12" wide. It was pretty discreet looking. I don't have pic's sorry.
