I've been thinking about the 1 inch body lift from ORD but had some questions. To anyone who is running this how much linkage adjustment did you have to make? How did it turn out? Are there any pictures available with the 1inch body lift?

yup, i run it.. just that with 32's for now... did the bushings at the same time...

you'll have to mod the bottom of your shroud... ditch the tailgate springs....shift linkage, don't know, I'm cable..

Not a bad job, depending on rust.. do one side at a time.. get em all loose first, then take out 1 side, jack up, install, lower, yada, yada....
the 4 cab bolts are the potential problem area.. the heads are under your floorboards, caged to prevent turning, hopefully..

The ORD kit is nice cuz it comes with bolts.... and do the bushings, stupid not to..

Did you re-locate the bumpers as well or is that how it sits after the lift? I have an automatic as well so I guess since you didn't have to do any modifications there I shouldn't either. How heavy is the tail gate without the springs?

~Brian

thats unmodded bumpers, just bent...

tailgate's not bad imo... doesn't bother me..

a stock auto will have linkage, my aftermarket is cable...

it's not linkage, it's a cable..

there's a bracket on the pan that attaches the cable to the trans, then it just runs in the cab to the floor shifter.. A 6" bodylift wouldn't affect that...

How do you like that compared to the factory shift lever?

~Brian

Why stop at 6"? You could easily go 10" with a cable shifter! :haha:

My column shifter sucked. If my frame flexed much it would sometimes pop out of gear and be difficult to shift.
