I want to do a 2 inch body lift in the front. I have many tools, but no lifts or anything. I was wondering what tools I would need and how hard it is to do.

Well if you're doing a body lift you're gonna have to raise the whole truck/Blazer body 2"s. Not just the front. I just used an impact and a jack. the impact to take loose the bolts and a jack to push up on the body in each corner to raise it enough to get the block in. You'll wanna make sure you take all the bolts loose before lifting up on any parts of the body to prevent tweaking anything. It just makes it easier IMO

You can do one side at a time with a floor jack and normal hand tools.

Make sure that any wires going to the frame have enough slack before doing any movement.

Make sure the bolts are loose all the way around, like said above.

I would spray stuff with PB blaster a day before you start if you can.

Also the vent tubes coming from the rear axle will need to be taken off the body cause they don't like to stretch :D

If it's an automatic you may run into trouble with the shifter linkage and the transfer case stick. Watch the gas tank filler hose also

What vehicle are you installing this on?
You may have to move the engine to body ground strap.
You may also have to move the E Brake cable from under a body mount to over it.

the steering shaft is another concern, but should telescope out enuff, but sometimes can be hard to move. i had a buddy put a body lift on and the shop where he bought it told him it would pull out enuff to work, but it didn't and it messed his rag joint up...come to find out it has some sort of plastic holding the shaft together that usually shears and lets the shaft pull out a little, and his didn't shear, i think you can see 1 or 2 little plastic "tits" on the shaft and iirc he had to drill them out the thickness of the female part of the shaft to get it to telescope.....and replace his rag joint.

i've heard people use a torch and melt these also, so shaft will telescope, in my experience they have always telescoped fine, i guess it sheared the plastic, i didn't have to drill or heat, i've only installed 3 body lifts tho, so there is a possibility it maynot want to slide out, so keep an eye on your rag joint and the shaft where they slide together b4 something breaks....if any1 knows more about this please shed some light
