None, any of the three would instantly make my truck 'trail only'.

Both if you can swing it. I'm extremely glad I dovetailed mine but I still drag tail on occasion.

cant answer as I dont own a k5... however im going to add a crew cab on my truck... and bob the bed to make it fit.. then debating on bobbing the frame and bed in the back.... so have like a 4' bed when done..... Dovetail front or back would mean non street legal in NJ... so cant do that....

Im doing both on my K5 now. They do different things, so it didn't make any sense to me to do one and not the other. Bobbing keeps your butt from dragging and reallys helps your departure angles... narrowing helps to get around nasty-tight turns better and helps keep the sides of your rear end off the obstacles.

No reason why you couldn't do both on a street driven rig... lots of toy 4-runner guys have done it. Just need flaps and/or removable fenders/flares depending on your states laws.

Jek.. how are you bobbing the rear and running leaf springs.. theres only so far you can go... do you have any pics on what your doing?

i just moved my rear axle back by running the 56"s backwards, and dumped the stock gas tank for a fuel cell in the bed...

I went all the way to the shackle mount. There is a good 18" of crap you can remove. My mount is in the stock position too.

I did the same thing on my suburban-buggy. Then i took 23'' out of the frame between the axles, moved the stock fuel tank on top of the frame 6'' behind the front seat. I cut all the body off behind the front seat and the whole front clip leaveing only a narowed core support. It looks kinda ghetto but I just crossed the $500 mark after the clocking ring install! Narrowing the ''cab'' would be trick but just more work than I want to do. As far as street legality I live 2 miles from USFS ground so no biggy.

Finally got some pics. Just getting started, Irok's,lift,gears,exo..... Coming soon as the tax man has my money:D

Not quite a write up but heres some pics of my favorite K5.

HERE

Look through all the pics, there is the removal of the top, rear, and the narrow of the front.

Just checked it out. That is a bad K5.
I have been thinking alot about what I wanna do with my Blazer, and I have already trimmed the fenders ALOT and I think I'm gonna dove tail the rear end only, cause I never really catch the front on anything, but I always catch the back end.

I just narrowed my shortbox truck but my shakle flip springs hang back nearly as far back as the back of the bed

So which would you go with, why and do you have pics? This is on a '87 K5.

Bobbed, Narrowed, Chopped, Channelled, and Sectioned....

There's no "I'm nekkid" option in this survey.

If you want somthing that much smaller, it might be easier to just sling Chevy axles under a Jeep. By the time you're done reducing every dimension of a Blazer, there really is nothing "Full Size" about it. :doah:
