Body Mount / Bushing... gone!

Hey all,

I am slowly going through my 1983 K5 Diesel and fixing some odds and ends before some of the modifications begin and I found something missing - is that an oxymoron?

Anyway, the body mount/bushing above the rear axle on the driver's side is missing. As in gone, like there isn't even the tapered metal base for the bushing on the frame anymore (at least the passenger side has this - I can only assume the driver's side is supposed to have this as well).

In looking at the passenger side it appears as if there are some flat metal shims (maybe 3"x3") above the bushing against the bottom of the floor. I assume these are either stock or they were put in there because the floor was rusting there and the bushing was protruding through? I haven't gotten all the carpet out to see just how bad it may be there.

So, should I try to get this tapered metal base off another frame or fab one up or ??? Should I get a whole set of body mounts/bushing from Energy Suspensions and try to upgrade/fix all of them?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!

yeah you want those pieces installed for sure. I would get one from the junk yard or I think LMC carries them as well. As for the shims I would guess they are not factory but it is really had to know.
