This is what i did, do you think it will be strong enough? and will it allow for my hanger to move far enough? PS. I got my DIY4x kit installed and my 64's ready to go on. next comes the 56's up front. just got my 7.25 shackles from DIY4x so we are good to go.

i just did my 64s this weekend and i found that the front edge of the spring hanger just covers the most rear fuel line bolt making it impossible to get a bolt in or out of the mount with the hanger installed. i left as much material on the hanger to keep them strong and added some 1 inch rubber matt between the body and frame. not sure what the permanent fix will be but thats worked pretty well for the last 2 days. i did contact kirt at diy4x4 about using a b52 mount in place and he said he could fab some up if i wanted.

I personally would not cut the body mount like that. I would maybe relocate the entire body mount if possible. Maybe right adjacent to the shackle mount if you can.

are you talking about the rear hanger. becuase that is the front hanger. if your talking about the front hanger i dont quite understand. can you take a pic

I thought you were asking about the rear, cause you mentioned 64's.

ah **** that would have been a great idea, but i already cut it. i can always get another one. how are they mounted? I dont know if its easy to relocate it has anyone done it?

yea i am doing the rear end but the front of the rear hangers... make since? look at the pic

Ya I'm totally being out of the loop here cuz I can't view the pictures...

If you're talking about the front hanger for the rear springs conflicting with the body mount behind the door...

My '76 has that body mount inside the frame instead of outside like the newer ones I've seen at junkyards. You could probably swap everything over from an older truck at a junkyard because I doubt they changed things all that much. The way mine is set up made it super easy to move the hanger forward 5.5". Barely had to even drill any holes.

Otherwise, I'd try grafting the two together and adding a crossmember like the '76s had if yours doesn't already have one.

A simple phone call to Kert will have him making you a whole new piece to fit there.
