I didn't pay attention to where the body mount shims go.
Installed Energy Suspension #3.4118 Body Mount Kit.

Could someone tell me where the shims go, please?

Thank you,
Ed

between body and mount . and used as needed to level the body to the frame so the body lines line up and doors open / close good .

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear.

I meant the 4 positions, is it 1 on each individual body mount?

No shims on the radiator core support, correct?

Sorry about not being clear.

It depends on the individual truck. Some have no shims at all. Some have two on one mount.

Anyone know how I would go about figuring out or deciding where to place the shims since I am starting from scratch?
I found this in the LMC catalog, but I guess this isn't necessarily where they go for all Blazers, correct?2025-01-02_172027.jpg

I layed it ALL out for you .

Some take zero . . Some take 1 or 2 . . Some take a lot . . Some thick some thin ... each vehicle has its own specific needs . There is no exact off the shelf answer to your question from anyone not working on your truck there .

I have scrapped prob 2 dozen and there all over the spectrum . . @kennyw will tell you the same with the dozens has has parted out .

Most trucks I part out don't have any shims at all. If you take them out, it is best to put them back where you found them. Since you did not keep track, you will want to likely start with no shims and get your body on, align doors, align fenders, and then start measuring different points on the body to see if it sits square or need shims.

I suspect you will find you cannot complete the fender alignment with the shims removed and need to add them around that point in the process.

I was wondering if I could put Shims under the core support?

I was concerned about creating miss alignment between the lower grill panel & bumper?

But I may try adding 1-1/8 shim to the bodies mounts 4 positions.

Is it ok to add shims in one area only?
For instance, passenger side , position 1, front cab mount? not core support.

Thank you,
Ed

Align the body lines with them. It doesn’t matter where they go as long as body lines are straight and aligned

Thats ehat they sre for (y)
I was concerned about adding a shim in 1 position would tweak the body, perhaps causing the door to not close as good as it douse.

But I'm going to add a 1/8 shim in that 1 position and see what happens.

Thank you!
