The time has come to do the body mounts on my k5.To those of you that already have done this my question is....

Looking at kits form summit and jegs they use a standard pic and a call to them did not give me any more info,so with that said I need to find out if the kit has the rear bushings like this?? looks like its 6"x3''x1'' block x4 2 for each mount.

I see LMC has stock bushings and cost 199.95 and look like the type shown in the pic but pricey,Need to save some money for a rear drive shaft.Any thoughts or suggestions?? I want to make sure I have all the right parts I will only have a weekend to do this.

Thanks Mike

i run energy suspension body mounts. thay come in a complete set. but you need to reuse the hardware and metal cups. its on the rubber that gets swaped out.

i got Off Road Design.com body bushing and 1" body lift, that u get the new rubber and new longer hardware to make up the 1". comes with everything u need. and its about the same price for just the bushings from summit or LMC

ord body lift =75.50
ord body bushing kit same as energy suspension =99.00
ord total 174.50 + s&h

summit energy suspension kit= 95.99
summit no 1" body lift = 0.00
summit total for 1/2 the product = 95.99 +s&h

how is this the same?

but yes 1" body lift is a sweet thing to have and helps alot in work.

well literal-sweetk30 if u add the cheapest body lift at "around" $120, now ur over the ord price. i was simply giving my 2cents, u get more for ur money. i didnt know the simmit came with hardware. my bad for throwing up an idea

Go poly mounts. Screw LMC and their rubbers.

Have Kert fab up some new metal parts if yours are too rusty.

And always use new bolts in place of the old ones, regardless of the rust or not.

Thanks everyone for your input.I do understand that I have to use some of the old parts. What I am worried about is the last 2 sets of bushings I don't see anything in the kit like them.( see pic in the 1st post)

Just wondering about the torque requirement for all the bolts cant find it in any of my manuals.

Thanks Mike

what is the advantages of using poly vs rubber?

cheeper than full rubber set.

comes in a kit 1 part #

rides firmer.

but if poly in engine or tranny mounts must use in both or bad things can happen.

all my rigs are full poly front to back top to bottom.

Has Kert done this before or would he just be a good person to turn to? The factory "upper sleeves" on mine are toast and I don't want to waste a lot of time and money finding more rusted out ones.

body bushings

Same subject different post.

Does anybody lnow the bolt sizes and lengths for the body to frame? I need to get new bolts instead of recyling the old ones.
