I need some advice about paint and body. Do I do paint and body first or refurbish the inside of the Blazer. Just want to do it right the first go around thanx for all the help. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grind.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

The best way to paint it is with as much removed as you can, then spray the color on everything , door sills , jams , floor, dash, everywhere. Then once done put it all back together with the new stuff . /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

since a good paint restoration will involve painting the interior to match the exterior (There is alot of paintable, viewable metal on the interior of these older vehicles.)Paint first.

I trashed the floor coverings in mine and will use Line-X spray in bedliner in place of carpet or rubber floor covering. /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

I agree .I have seen some real nice rigs but when the door is opened the jambs look like sh$t .I found that it is easiest to paint the truck in pieces..Pull the fenders hood and doors and top and tail gate and that way you could strip the entire interior out.I know this sounds like alot of work but the finished product will speak for itself. And this way you can realign all the body sheetmetal for that factory fresh look. How far do you want to go?? If it is just a quick paint then just mask everything off and shoot it and be done..But If you want to restore your k5 to all its glory then do it right the first time. And while you have it apart you can refurbish the floors and bed section ..Because believe me when you strip the rug out you'll see what 98% of us here have found in our beloved k5's.......Good luck dude and be sure to post pics when done.................. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
