Okay, probably in august-september I will be stripping the blazer down to the frame. Or pretty close. So I was wondering.... can the front fenders come apart, from the cab part? I saw yukon jacks cab when he got it painted just had the cab, no fenders. So saving weight when I lift it off, are the front fenders on k5's removable? Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

yes /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Front fenders are two pieces, inner and outer. The inner ones are really just the wheel wells, IMHO.

The front fenders are the same for Burbs, Blazers, and pickups (in given years, not including 88+ single cab pickups, etc), so the cab/tub differs, but the fronts are removable and interchangeable.

In short, yes, the front quarters come off, and the cab ("tub") extends from the firewall to the rear.

Obviously there's a bit more to it -- trim, radiator support, etc -- but it's quite nicely modular.

Okay good... I will take the front part off then /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif
Oh, so on a K5, it's called a tub, not a cab? Woops /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Oh, folks call it a tub 'cuz it includes the cab and the bed... as opposed to pickups, where the two are separate.

If you said "cab" people'd know whatcha meant.

Blame it on us Americans -- god knows we're always blaming Canadians for everything /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

I'm kidding -- mostly! -- cuz the only thing *I* blame ya for is Bill Shatner.

LOL okay. I will probably still call it cab sometimes (darn americans /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif) but I will try to keep it simple and say tub /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif
