Ok here it is....I am doing a frame up resto on my 73 Blazer. Now comes the problem I recently put the body back on the frame after having it powder coated. Now I put the hard top back on an it was way off at the windshield. I measured the top it is pretty square. Well I replaced all the body mounts and figured out the body mount under the windshield frame needed to be shimmed up well I did that and it took about 3/4 inch of shims to get it right on the passanger side and 5/8 on the driver side.

Could this be right? There were no shims on it before the dissasembaly...
What am i missing?

I put on the new front fenders on and looks like I am gonna need to shim the front body mount too in order to get algnment.:doah:

Could my frame have twisted moving it around?

Thanks for the help

i changed mine aswell on a sub did not remove body and the fenders and doors dont align as well with the old ones,
im guesing the kits are not the same as oem i know my dfront mounts where different than the ones i took out.

I bet you are seing normal frame flex. I suggest you loosen all the frame to body bolts, support the frame near the 4 cab mounts, remove the wheels and reallign the cab ,fenders etc. I remember seing videos of factory truck assembly. The frames were supported near the cab mounting areas. With the frame allowed to float body panel allignment should be easier. The vehicle should rest on the wheels when all the body panels are mounted and alligned.
