the 80 jimmy i just bought wont pass smog, so i have two options. swap my 73 c10 body on the 80 frame or do a sas swap and swap all the 4x4 stuff to the c-10. iv done that before but never a body swap. which is harder?

Why not just find a guy that will help it "pass" smog. That's what I've always done.

Went to 3 places today one of them I thought he would do it but no go. Plus I like the long bed for work

A Jimmy and a pick up are not direct body swaps. If using the Jimmy frame you can swap over the cab but no bed.

body swap in my opinion is faster and easy compared to full suspension swap if thay both come apart easy .

as for gauges lable all wires from both and swap bodys with wiring intact. then match up and plug in basicly.

only real diffrence is if 1 had dummy light and other had gauges.
