body swap question

OK... i know this belongs in the truck section but htere it goes (I have a blazer dont rag on me) I have a 79 2-WD cab in perfect condition... can I put it on my 789 4-WD if I cut a hole for the xfer case shifter??? I know I wont have that cool little light that says I'm in 4x4...
PLease advise... the wrecker comes tomorrow to take all this away... HELP!!!

I dont see why not. If you cut the hole like the one in the original cab it should fit. You can clearance the body with a ballpean hammer if you have any problems. Besides what do you have to loose?

Not too sure about this, but shouldn't the 2WD cab also have a tunnel that you can unbolt like the 4WD models? I always figured GM used the same cabs to save money.

you know I thought it did too.. i went out and looked and it didnt.... I have a sawz all though... think i could cut the 2wd one out and bolt in the 4wd one??? or i guess it's easier to just cut a hole for the xfer case huh...

Yeah, it would be less work for you to just cut out a hole in the "new" one. Thanks for the info!
