Body swap questions

I've had my 77 K5 for 10 years now, and during that time it has transformed into a pretty kick ass trail rig. The problem is now I have a family of 4, and the body is so beat that a top or doors won't go on it anymore, which makes it impossible to take my young kids anywhere in it. I'm looking for another body to swap onto my frame, so I can have an enclosed truck again. My questions are

1. What year did the rear floor change for more legroom? I think it was 78 but not sure.

2. Which tubs can be swapped into my frame? Will a newer 80's tub work on my frame or does the tub with more leg room interfere with the kick up on my frame?

I wouldn't limit yourself to another blazer body...
One of my good friends was in a similar situation with a soon to be growing family. He had a great wheeler but it was small so he started looking around and whatever popped up for cheap that had room was getting swapped on and he ended up with this...

'69 FJ55 on a blazer frame with his built drivetrain.

The main reason I want to do a body swap is because I don't want completely build another rig. I have considered swapping my drive train into a short crew cab though

I think 78 was the floor change year as well, as far as the swapping goes, check out Colbystephens old build thread on his green 73 K5, I'm pretty sure that he put the 73 body onto a early 80's frame . That being said, I think the frames are basically the same, but I do remember something about one set of body mounts moving from inside to outside of the frame rails at some point (or vice versa) .

I think I figured it out. The floor did change in 78 to give the rear passengers more legroom. You can swap a 73-77 tub onto a newer frame but you can't swap a 78-91 tub onto an earlier frame. I can't find any decent 73-77 tubs for sale at the moment
