I pulled the glass and mechanism from the tailgate, it is so much lighter! I have no intentions of putting the hard top back on, I’ll probably sell it.. Does the truck tailgate bolt in without any mods?
Yes, but you need the matching hardware for the tailgate. The bolt holes already exist in the Blazer tub. There is a year break on the tailgates, I think around '80 when the nose changed. Just get the latches and hinges with the tailgate if you can.
Soft top was a factory option, which came with the truck gate. This is why all K5s are set up to take the pickup-style tailgate.
