boggers on a dd, am i crazy?

just get another K-5.no wheel swaping.i have a K-5 for mud [38.5 boggers]one for trail[33 BFGs]one for snow[42 TSLs] and they all share the same plates and insurance.

well, ive been convinced to go bigger tha 35s since ive got ~9" of lift and am installing 5.13s. 40s seem like a good size, and that same buy can get them cheap, only thing is that they arent radials. so am i going to have the same problems with all the bias swampers? for 39.5x15 bias should i run 10" or 12" rims? i want to maximumize the life of these.

thanks

I think having a set of "off-road only" tires is a great idea, but swapping tires everytime gets old. ya just end up leaving them on thinking "i'll take them off tomorrow" -- next thing you know, you're wheeling again, etc.

if you have the motivation to swap tires every weekend, although not a hard job at all, just a pain in the ass... go with that idea.

I agree, it's a nice IDEA. I planned on doing this but when I relized what it costs for another set of wheels wrapped with another set of 35's it costs way too much. Boggers are heavy, I don't want to swap them around every freaken weekend. I'd rather save my money from a 2nd set, since that would cover 1.5 new sets of boggers, and leave my back alone so I'm not hunched over as an old man from changing tires all the time.

personally i would have 2 sets of tires. one for dd driving ie bfg at's and then a spare set for wheeling. it is good to have a hi lift jack anyway as well as spares in case of a flat. that way you have everythign covered. i am going to get another set of tires and rims when i can. i have 31" bfg at's to put on now and i would like a set of 31" ltb's i think since they are a lot cheaper than the others. :D

ur right, i dont! while i still got a very young back, i wanna keep it for a while :haha:

if you're planning on running 40s on anything other than just street, you need to look into axle swaps, rather than gear swaps. your 10 bolts wont live, especially if you're thinking 40" Boggers.

i know, i have a 14b detroit locker and 5.13s for the rear, and for now im gonna do 8lug 10b in front and keep it open. when i find a d60 for a decent price around here ill pick it up and put it in, but for now 3/4 ton is how it is.
