I have been researching some exhaust options, as mine has started to rust and fall apart, and am wondering what fellow K5ers have done for exhaust that retains the stock type configuration. I am definitely needing from the converter back, but am also considering just doing headers back all at once.

What have you done, what have you seen, what works, what sucks?

TIA

At Napa you can get the stock pre-bent pipes in 2.5".

I know Jegs carries some, but I'm not sure about how the cat would work in.

Does anybody know why a kit for an 87 Blazer wouldn't fit a 91? If you get a kit, make sure it is side exit and not rear exit.

Maybe you want to install it yourself to save money, but I can always find a local shop to custom bend the pipe and weld everything for less money than buying a kit and shipping it. Plus a welded system leaks less.

If you need to change something in the future, you can always cut the pipes, get an expander tool and clamp new stuff together. You're not "locked in" just because it's welded.

I like to pick my mufflers and bring them to the shop with me.
