I have a buddy that is wanting to get a 79-85 k5....Going to to 1 ton Axles and make all that nice and sturdy...He wants to go up with it...My question is what is the highest suspension kit out there? and What can he do to get the most height out of a lift?? How many inches can we get?

The biggest off the shelf kit is 12", what size tire is he wanting to run? Are you willing to trim/cut fenders?

Be prepared, big lifts are "out" now so most folks are going to tell you that you'll die and/or kill everyone around you if you lift it higher than 6".

35's to 38's...Who makes the kit?

I hear you bro...He likes that big look...I personally have a 79 with a 6" on 35s....but hey to each his own right...

Thanks for the help...

ya they are strict...hes going to need to put mud flaps on his truck and the wheel base needs to stay inside the lines...

Superlift does the big kits, I think Skyjacker does also.

Unless he just wants a ton of space between the tires and body he wont need that big of a kit for 38's. For the big look without a huge gap I'd suggest 8" with the 38's. That said I had a friend that ran 39.5 TSL's with a 12" Superlift kit and it looked very nice and proportionate.

Thanks ill pass the info on to him!...

got another question..doesanyone know what website to purchase this kit went to both websites and they arent even listed....

I would suggest checking out the vendor forum here or buying a current magazine and price shopping the various companies that advertise.

I would doubt you'll find it advertized. Most likely these companies have these kits on the shelf, collecting dust. Prob have to make the phone call to find what you're lookin for.
