hey guys...did the bolt pattern on the blocks change on Vortec engines??
I'm trying to see if an engine out of a 99 Suburban will mate w/ and older 4L60, anyone know...???

Yes it will mate up perfectly. The bolt pattern did not change.

The bellhousing pattern stayed the same. However the new engines are mission one of the bolt holes for the transmission bell. I have not heard of any ill effects of this bolt not being used.

You're thinking of the LS1 engine and not the Vortec engine. The only thing that changed with the Vortec engine starting in 1996 were the heads and intake.

those ls series need adaptors for new to old motor mounts.

Oops I thought that is what he was referring to as in the 6.0 Vortec motor. Either way the bellhousing pattern did not change.
