Anybody know the bolt size and thread pitch for the power steering pump shaft on a '98 Chevy 3/4 ton, 5.7 liter?

I need a bolt to press the pulley back on.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't press it back on with a bolt. I would go get the combo from kragen with a GM specific PS pump pulley puller and reinstall tool. Totally worht it, you will take this off again, i guarantee you!

3/8"-16 (coarse.)

Thanks, both of you, for the come back. I've done it with a bolt, some washers, and a socket but in this case would have found it impossible to hold the pulley and crank on the bolt since I was alone.

Problem solved by getting a loaner tool from the local O'Rielly's. When I bought the puller years ago they did not sell it as a combo with the installer included - now they do and with the loaner program I will be better prepared in the future.

Sounds good. When the local kragen sold me the puller w/o installer, i went back to buy an installer, and when i figured out there was a package, i gave them some hell for not letting me know about it. Good to know the guys at kragen, after all was said and done, i returned the puller, bought the kit, and saved 25% of the total!
