OK here is the deal what size bolts is everyone running.
i got the diy front shackle frame hanger.
and 6 inch shackles
and 4 inch shackles

the 4 inch have a 1/2 hole but the stock bolts are smaller a 7/16 i think. so either it fitls the shackle hole or it fits the spring if i pull the sleave out the bushing has play with the larger 1/2 bolt.

on the 6 inch shackles they have 9/16 holes so great they fit the new shackle and shackle hanger (diy) but once again not the spring. i think a 3/4 bolt will work in the spring with out play or a sleave so do i drill out the shackle to a 3/4 and not run a sleave on the spring.

Also if i go that route then when i do the 56 swap i will need the 9/16 hole in the shackle so once again hole size issues.

I was thinking use th 4 inch shackles fro now till swap and drill them out to a 3/4 for the spring and a 9/16 for the shackle hanger (diy) on the frame.

I dont know if im missing something or just doing it the hard way thanks for the help and putting up with the long post.

Per the website the standard holes for the shackles are .5". We can do them anyway you want them but unfortunately we don't know what they are being used for. We used to try to interpret what guys were doing by looking at what other items were on the order but that doesn't work either. Some guys ordering for a friend and were counting on the listed size. so on and so forth.

If you ordered a package deal like a shackle flip n switch with 6" shackles, then you'd get 9/16" holes for the flip and rear springs. Good to go there.

Give me a shout tomorrow and we'll set things right for ya. Part of the purchase is the service. It's yours so don't be afraid to use it!!:wink1:

yea no prob kert i tried calling today must have missed ya. I bought everyhting as a kit from you minus bolts. the shackle flip and switch im good on got the bolts today.
the front has me at a stand still
i bougth 8 total pieces 6" shackles from you for the front and the b52 and larger shackle hanger, all have the 9/16 hole so how do they play out on the front do i just need new spring bushings thats what im thinking.

If you have a b52 and a shackle eye hanger and actually are mounting 52's they you should be good to go. 52" rears should be a 9/16" hole. If I'm not following ya, call again tomorrow. Sorry missed your call. Had to leave at 5 today.

thats what im missing i have stock fronts fro now just installing th spring hanger so im making it hard like always i gues all have to figure something out. do they make a spring bushing that accepts teh 9/16 bolt s for a stock front spring?
can i run a 56 backward lonfg in front and still use push pull steering thats my main hold up right now fro not doing the complete swap gathering all teh steering stuff and the 60
thanks for all teh replies DIY i thougth the 4 shackles would be a stock hoel and bolt on i got them used from a member but the hole size was off insueig all these problems.

Yeah no kidding :D

Ok as far as the 1/2in holes and 7/16ths stock. You definatly dont want to drill the shackle out and ditch the sleeve. That sleeve is there to stop the bolt from chewing the bushing. Best thing to do is go buy a good half in bit and pull the sleeves out. Chuck em up in a vice and ream them with the 1/2in bit. Thats what I did.

wat about the frame mount? drill it also?

Yep once you start to try to drill it while its in the bushing the sleeve will want to come out. Then throw it in the vice.

i need new shackles with different size holes at each end. 9/16 on one side and 7/16 on the other.

Coulda beefed your setup a little if ya drilled the sleeve out and use the 1/2"'ers :dunno:

i wil be running 1/2 lower and 9/16 upper ordered new spring bushings today so all squared away waiting on parts

recon i'm going to drill mine to 1/2''...thinking about it, going 1/2'' from 7/16'' is only 1/32 removed from wall of bushing sleeve, am i thinking correct here?

I would highly recommend not re-drilling any bushing sleeve.

I would also recommend the 1/2" bolt upgrade over the stock 7/16" bolt. Its 71% stronger assuming both bolts are made of the same material.

I've heard that the stock 7/16" bolt is a weak link (and I've seen one break in person), its not a wonder that most people upgrade to a bigger bolt on that side of the spring.

ord selly the 1/2 up grade with out having to change frame mount its a bolt on up grade.
i already had the diy shackle hanger thats why i am in a bind. but i have a set of shackles i bought from a member that have 1/2 holes so im just going to drill one side for the 9/16 diy kit and run 1/2 ord at the spring.
Later when i do the 56 swap ill use my other shackles that are already 9/16 on both ends.
i am trying to combat some death wobble issues and bushing deflection i think is helping cause it.
