Bolting on front bumper?

I just picked up a cool winch bumper for my 71 Jimmy. How many bolts do I need to put in each side to ensure it will have the needed strenght? My buddy told me 4 on each side but wanted some more opinions. I don't really want to weld it on. Thanks

Doesnt it already have mounting holes?

Yes but they do not line up. I think this bumer might of been pulled off of a '73 and later truck. Therefore I will need to drill some holes.

Also what size bolts should I use?

Use 20 grade 8 bolts on each side, then your for sure going to keep that in place /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

I'd say use 3 or 4 1/2inch grade 8s on each side. I used 3 grade 8s on each side for my rear bumper. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
