Where do you guys get all your bolts for your trucks? Just home depot or somewhere on line ?

It just depends on which ones. New generic bolts, like grade 5, 8 and a few stainless, I went to the hardware store.
There is quite a selection available, but if you need a large quantity, some places have them by the pound.
Most all of the body bolts were original that I cleaned up. I would either blast them, or use Evapo-rust. But then they need painted.

Tractor supply sells bolts by the pound. Way cheaper than buying by the bolt at say home Depot or Lowe's

Tractor Supply...best place to buy them, they sell them by the pound!..just shovel what you want in a bag,and write the part # on the bag--they have a large selection of grade 2,5,8 and some flange head bolts, not so many metrics as SAE and USS ones though..prices range from about $3 to $5 a pound..

My next choice is a Home Depot or Lowes, but their prices are ridiculous..ditto for the local ACE or True Value hardware store, and two other privately owned hardware stores, but they have just about any bolt or nut you even need--only place that had metric 10mm bolts to fit my 6.2 exhaust manifold was one of those places--almost costed $20 for 8 bolts, but I had to have them, and no one else would stock any..

Local steel supply sells them by the pound and I buy a bunch from McMaster-Carr. Only use the local hardware stores in a pinch.

We have local supply stores. All they do is sell fasteners and shop supply. I bet you have something in any major city.

There are some "Fastenal" stores near me now,but I've never been to any of them yet...

the fastenal store I bought from only sold in bulk. Great if your planning ahead. In my situation I broke the track bar bolt on my XJ and they were the only place with the size. Had to buy a whole bag. I still have all the other bolts sitting in my bin 4 years later.

like 10 years ago im a completely different state, the local fastenal store had bins you could pick from like any other hardware store. I guess it varies wherever you go.

Depends, day to day bolts ( 1/4", 5/16",3/8" and 1/2".... 1/2" - 5" long + nuts and washer ) I get buy the pound. Anything bigger I usually order from someplace like McMaster Carr if I have time to wait. Something comes up I need right now..Local hardware store ( 1/2 hour round trip ) or one of the big box stores ( 1 hour round trip )

I have scored many new bolts up to 3/4" at the flea market...many guys take them there before scrapping them,I have bought full 5 gallon pails of bolts, nuts, nails, etc, some were all mixed together, some were sorted--for $5 !..also almost gave myself another hernia hauling them back to my truck about two football fields away...but it was worth it..

I just dump the pail out on my garage floor and sort the stuff out, then put it in the drawers of a steel cabinet,by size & thread..nails,deck screws, and other hardware go in a separate set of drawers or in their original packages, plastic containers that sandwich meat comes in,coffee cans..
It is nice being able to walk over and open a drawer or can and get what you need--no wasting time pawing thru piles of assorted stuff all mixed together..
