Bone stock \'90 Burb 3/4 ton to be lifted - suggestions?

'90 3/4 Burb. 8-lug 10b front and 14b sf rear. Soon to have 35's (they are on the way). I know that I need at least a 4" lift and 6" would be fine with me. Any suggestions so that I don't have to do this twice.

I have a 90 burb that started out bone stock. The first thing I did was to 33's with minor trimming. Then went to 36" tsls with 8" all spring lift. Then 38" sts radials. Then 39.5 tsl with added 3" body lift + bushwacker cutouts. Now it has 12"+ lift with 44" boggers & 1 ton running gear. IMHO you should go with the 6" because after that you'll still want more. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Nice rig. Have you had any problems with either the Flares or the body lift?

The bushwacker cutouts have broken once and replaced. The next time they break the sawzall is coming out. The body lift is ok but if I had to do it again I would not use one.

Lots of people have made comments like yours on bb's that I have read in the past. Apparently Burb's don't like body lifts. Thanks

Rat you didn't happen to be in Baton Rouge yesterday evening did you?

1st sighting I've seen of a burb that matched your specs rolling down college drive in baton rouge last night, white, 44" boggers and soem major lift 89-91 model /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

i'd do a 6" all spring

Re: Bone stock \'90 Burb 3/4 ton to be lifted - suggestions?

I have 9" lift (6 suspension and 3 body) and with 35's they will still hit the front fenders while wheeling. I would go with at least a 6" all spring lift. The rear lift leafs usually sag a little in the rear (especially on a burb) so I also use a 2" block to put the back up slightly higher than the front. I wouldn't do a shackle flip on the rear. A set of greasable extended front shackles from ORD would be cool also.

Here is mine with a 6" all spring lift and a 2" block in the rear, 3" body lift, and 35's.

No it wasn't me.It would have taken a lot of $$$ to drive the /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif over there. Last year at Cruisen the coast, there was a 89-91 burb with 10 bolts sittin on 44's. It could have been that one /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
