I'm borrowing my buddies 86 suburban for a few days. I parked it last night at about 7 I went out to start it this morning at 9 and it wont fire up. It cranks but wont fire. Its not flooded. I really really need help!

start with the basics, take a fuel line off, crank it and see if fuel is coming out. if so then pull a spark plag wire and hold onto the end if ya got balls or stick it close to something metal to see if it sparks. There werent any problems with it when you drove it last though? Sounds like an ignition problem though. Is the HEI?

I've already checked and the fuel pump is working. This is HEI.

check for spark then, I bet the coil on top of the distributor is out. Does it just turn over and over with out even a hint of wanting to go vroom?
