I'm going to be changing out my OEM one wire O2 sensor to a heated three wire one. I remember reading about people complaining that the Bosh O2 sensors were crap and not to buy them. I searched but didn't find anything so My question is why are the Bosh O2 sensors crap ?

Dan..

Bosch o2 sensors are still made in america, so the quality control is still pretty good. However stay away from the spark plugs, they are made in china now.

i think you got them mixed up with bosch spark plugs.

plugs suck big time.

all we run up hear in my area is bosch sensors. i have (4) in my 1 truck and 1 in the other. still going strong.

I put 4 on my blazer at the 100,000 mile mark

(96 S10 Blazer with vortec required 4)

I have 148000 on it now, no problems yet

That info came up on thirdgen.org if you really want to read about why they suck. It may be over on diy-efi.org (gmecm) if you want to dig deeper. The problems they seem to cause are probably a small percentage compared to those that don't have problems, BUT Delco O2's have little to no complaints in out of the box operation, which indicates the Bosch's simply aren't as reliable, out of the box.

Buy Delco.
