Howdy guys, I recently purchased this truck from an older man who used the door alot to get in and out. No matter how hard you shut the door or push it from the bottom. It wont shut completely. Can this be easily adjusted?

New door pins and bushings if you lucky.....new hinges pins and bushings if your not.

Pins and bushings should be available at local parts house.;)

Yet another victim of GM door sag...:doah:

When I read the title, my first thought was along the lines, "does the top of the door shut?"

Useless I know:doah:

Pins and bushings should help your door out.

Does this case look bad enough for the hinges to be fubar? I havent even really inspected them closely. Ill check it out tonight.

By the appearance of the gap, prolly not, but it's hard to tell without seeing the hinge itself.

well I went and checked out the door more closely. there is absolutely no sign of play at the hinges or pins. I pulled up and down on the door watching the hinges and pins...nothing. When I shut the door I can push it in probably another inch. Where should I look now.

Sounds like it's time to adjust the doors if there is no play in the hinges. There's a procedure somewhere up on k5

I see the bottom hinge needing adjustmant. I think if you looosened the bolts for the bottom hinge (to the door) and pushed the door inward 1/8" there the gap would be a lot less.

The problem is you'll also need to re-adjust the bottom of the fenders or the door may catch the back of the fender (worst case) or best case the misalignment will be at the door fender interface.

Getting the door to close perfectly can be tedious. Just remember to make small adjustments, then re-evaluate, adjust a little more, check again. I usually remove the striker catch and get it all adjusted, then re-install the striker and adjust that for best close.
