Since I finally sold the 175 Miller I had I used the money to purchase a new one, had to put some towards it but thats fine. Bought it from Cyberweld.com. Paid no shipping or tax. The price advertised was what I paid. I sold the 175 and bought the 180 because Miller makes a Spool gun for the 180 for welding Aluminum. It's about $206, that's a good price for a spool gun. I will be ordering that soon. I would love a 212 but the price nearly doubles and besides the 175 was more then good enough for my needs. Jusr wanted the Aluminum welding capacity. Cant wait to weld with it.

I just bought my 180 in the summer and it has been great... I too, really shopped around for the 212, but the 180 has enough snot to do almost anything I could want...

Do you have the spool gun for Aluminum?

nope, down the road... one of the reasons I bought it...

I had considered doing my skidplate out of al, but decided on steel...

I'm deciding on the spool gun or or DIY4x4 tube doors first. I won't build myown, I dig Kurts and $345 is not a bad price, it's not worth my time building them.

I like my 180, But i set the heat and speed settings on my own. I do not like the autoset as it seems to always hunt around and makes poor welds.

Thats not good to hear. I probably will to but still, it should weld just fine on those presets. I will check mine out and see how it welds on the auto set. Still need to get wire, I let my last spool go with the one I sold :doah:.

hey rdn, did you end up purchasing the spoolgun, i'd like to know how that 180 performs with one.

No not just yet. Have been buying truck parts so I need to save some more money before I buy one. I want to soon though, I'm curious as heck to see how well it does or does'nt weld Aluminum too. The CD I got with it showing it welding Al looks pretty good though. Nice size bead.
