so im getting this truck, 85 gmc v3500, 6.2, sm465, 14b dually rear d60 front 4.56 gears, 9ft plow, ugly ass flatbed. plans are ditch the flatbed and build my own, it was a dump body when new so im sure its a cab/chassis frame, if i remember right i can use an 8ft bed? or do i need the dually bed?, other then turning up the pump 1/6 of a turn, anything else basic i can do to get a bit more oomph out of her? j-code 6.2, has mabye 4000 miles on new lift pump, injectors, heads etc etc, whole truck only has 76000 miles. already has a hackjob flowmaster setup on it ill be removing. just looking to make a simple basic work truck, plan on lifting it a bit, bigger tires(how big can i go with the stock dually rims?), doing the minor bodywork and giving it a decent paintjob. sold my k5 for 1000 bucks and im getting the v3500 for 800, happy to be in diesel land!!
