Bought prothane body mount kit PN#7-110-BL for my 90 K5. What I got looks good but there is no directions on which mount goes where and how they go. Also it didn't come with any bolts or sleeves, except for 2 and a bunch of washers. So needless to say I am a little lost. So if anyone has some pointers or pictures or directions it would be great!

98% of body bushing kits dont come with bolts / cups / or factory hardware .

read the directions there should be part #'s molded in them and directions should tell what positions .

Like I said theres no directions or anything telling me where which one goes where. Most of them are the same size but there are a few small ones, which I think might go in the front and rear, but not sure. Also there are no bolts in the kits there are only washers.

:doah: forgot 1 word sorry . 98% DONT include hardware .

and call them up .

but can tell ya bigest 4 on trucks go to cab . somtimes 2 for core support are tiny bit diffrent hight . then rest for rear of blazer bed area .

but i use energy suspension my self and thay have part #'s and directions .

Oh ok...sorry. So what, I guess I use the old hardware? Which I doubt that I will be able to use most of it. I already took the rear body mounts out by cutting them out because of the rust. I looked on the Prothane website but it sucks and everything is generalized. I should have went with energy suspension but bought the prothane because it was cheaper. Thank you sweetk30 for your help!

I recently replaced the body mounts on my K5 with a poly set, and yeah, the directions were crap and didn't match the hardware I had particularly well.

Note that my truck is a bit different than yours, being older, so the specifics of my situation aren't useful to you.

But as a general case, I ended up printing out the directions for every brand I could find, and was eventually able to puzzle out which mount went where, from which I could then deduce which bolt went where. It was further complicated because I'd bought a body lift at the same time, so the vendor sent me a pile of pucks, hardware, and the poly bits all in one box.

I seem to recall Energy's instructions having good pictures, so you might start there...

Once you sort out where the bits go, anticipate going to the hardware store and buying a bunch of bolts in various lengths. Pretty sure they're all 1/2"-13, i.e. coarse thread.

Why does a 1" body lift make working on it easier? I've never had a body lift on mine, and never seen and inspected one that did to compare, so I'm just curious what it helps with.

just makes it easier to get to things under the truck, spaces the body up from the trans, motor, t case, frame, and all that other stuff I find myself always working on :D

That's why I went with a OEM style rubber kit from LMC. Came with all of the hardware and looked identical to the factory stuff, so no instructions required.

Last summer, I replaced my mounts with an Energy kit. I had to search online for a while before I found good instructions. :sign19:
But even the instructions weren't full of pictures, just descriptions with part numbers. I eventually "put the puzzle together". I still ended up putting some in upside down, at first. And be careful, because I had 4 of the big "pucks" look the same, but they were pairs with two different part numbers, and they went in different locations.

I also vote that you should call Prothane and bend their ears for some instructions to be emailed to you.

Thank you for all your help guys, I really appreciate it. I will try to remember to document what I do so maybe I can help the next guy with Prothane body mounts.

And the 1" body lift sounds like a great idea, what kit do you guys recommend?
