I looked at this 92 cummins about an hour ago guy only wants 1000 bucks. The engine being the only thing worth anything on the truck seems to be in good shape, apparently it has 110k on it but I can't verify that since it was swapped in. It starts rite up. The trans is a little funny though. I guess the spring on the TV cable is missing so it doesn't shift rite. It would run good then the trans would start slipping and not moving at all, then he'd get out adjust the cable and itd shift again. So that's a little questionable. Its a 4x4 with lockout hubs and what seems to be a D60 up front idk about this though? All in all the engine seems good and thats all that matters. I have a feeling the engine isnt originally a 92 though seeing how the intercooler isn't hooked up to it even though the IC is in the truck. What do you guys think? I think he pulled it out of the woods, I didn't want to even drive it idk how the fluids are. Anyway hes taking it to the junkyard tmrw if I don't buy it.

i would buy that thing in 2 seconds.... down in fl. that truck would sell for 3g's easily in the condition it's in.
 
I offered him 900 and he wont take less at all. So I'm giving him 1000 and hes driving it up on his trailer. I'm excited, will put some pics up tomorrow.
 
It may be a D61. Just check the casting to be sure. Even if it is, I'd still buy it.
 
92 would be overdrive so no Dana 61 it most likely has 3.55's

Dana 61's only came in the 727 equipped trucks 90' and older IIRC
 
Hope you get it! Good deal for you. BTW nothing is free or cheep I`m sure the truck will be a money pit, but it`s still a good deal!
 
Makes no difference 1k is cheap and the 1st gen guys will go crazy for those parts , sell off what you don't want .
 
well he didn't deliver it yet I'm going to drop off the cash tmrw morning hopefully this wont fall through! yeah it'll be a money pit for sure, will be a very slow build.
 
bought it! got it in my backyard rite now. runs like a champ, going to fix the trans cable and hope the trans is good. pics in a sec



not sure what my plans are for this truck, probably using the engine in the blazer and junking alot of it.

thats a fairly rare rig in great condition. I'd say its worth some restoration.
 
I would but I can only afford the engine. I'll probably sell as much off it as I can then get rid of it.
 
Awesome deal :bow::bow:, but, I don't know who would want to put a 12valve in a K5 ;).
 
haha, dont you have some work to do :)? i'm probably going to copy whatever you do for a mount/crossmember . either that or ill get a crew cab for this engine, im a little worried about the weight of a cummins on the trails
