so i was helping my son install his pedals for his trany swap and founf a what appeared to be a vac line on one of his brake light switch any ideas

Yep, it's the failsafe for the cruise control. It dumps the vacuum from the vacuum cannister that pulls the throttle open. There's an electrical switch to tell the cruise control electronics to turn off, and vac switch is there as a backup, just in case...
