As i am finding out? NO! NY State has a disability insurance program that I thought was gonna help out, But I found out that since the company I work for is based out of Maryland, and i get dispatched from Connecticut, I don't qualify for that either! so I am cashless!! I am trying to find out if I can get help through connecticut, since Thats the depot I work from. Even though I pay NY taxes! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

what company do you work for?

your corp. HR should be able to help you out with FMLA leave or short term disability, something!

I had a similar injury while serving in the Army(tore the three exterior ligaments). You can postpone the ankle surgery by wearing a ankle brace and some boots for support until the timing is right/better for the surgery. Once the ligaments are torn you cant do any further damage to them(assuming all three are severed). I was on crutches for a month and in a walking cast for another. The good news is after the surgery you shouldn't suffer any long term affects...I played three years of college football on mine and have never sprained it since the surgery.

Oh...BTW I kept driving a stick while wearing a cast and I was on crutches...just had to use my toes to manipulate the pedal.

The upside for me was Uncle Sam covered my medical expenses, I was able to finish my tour of duty, and I am listed as Disabled Veteran.

Oh man dude.. that !@# blows.

See if you can install a hand clutch of some sort- I know you have to drive stick for work, those clutches generally arent soft....

You messed up your right ankle correct? Well why dont you get one of those hand controled things, a kid here at my college has one to control the brake and gas. Then you could still use your left foot for the clutch.

This is federal stuff. The short term disability is something through your work and pay's you though your normal pay. I just had to make a Short term FMLA claim last month.

You need to find somebody else because I am pretty confident you have the feds on your side on this one.

I called NY State. Since I am an "out of state" Employee, I don't put into it with NY. There is an option with My own health insurance, but I, for some STUPID reason opted not to??? I opted for the max coverage on evrything, but managed to miss that! I don't know what federal agency I could call. NYS denied me, and connecticut doesn't offer anything.

I'd contact a personal injury lawyer..

There is stuff you can do...
You just have to hit below the belt like they are to you! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Sure you can and then get psyciatric help to say you have split personality. Then you can collect SS and Disability. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
