Public Service Announcement:

When you are working on your 1st Gen and start cutting off old rusty metal.... especially the structural items like torsion boxes, rocker panels and cab supports..... BRACE YOUR DOORS!!!!

There isn't much left to hold the factory dimensions and prevent your door gaps from getting REALLY screwed up when it's finally time to re-hang all of your sheetmetal. You could be in for some really unpleasant surprises and a LOT of extra work to get things resolved later on...

True.... only problem now is the taillights stick-out 3" past the tailgate....

Still confused, I can see not bracing the doors to allow it to collapse in, or widen out, causing the gaps to be crooked, that gap looks straight, just 3 inches apart!

You're gonna need a bigger hammer.
