Been gone for a few weeks... Got married and had to move in with the new wife! Imagine a two car garage 90% full of "man shit" I realized I don't own anything house worthy except for a dresser and a few other items. Rest of my "stuff" goes in the garage. If I built myself a new house, I'd be a one bedroom/bathroom with small kitchen, 10'x10' living room and a 4 car garage with 16' ceilings.
Getting back into the rebuild. Got delivery of $2k plus in LMC parts.
I am strategizing the replacement. I am worried about the body shifting or distorting once the old quarter panels are cut off.
Does anyone have any direct knowledge for recommendations about racing the body before I cut the quarter panels out? The last thing I want is to have to figure out where the existing body panels should be if they move or distort. Are there any reference points I should mark and measure? Is there any steel I need to weld on to the existing body to shore it up to prevent distortion? Is there any wood I might need to wedge under the vehicle between the body and the frame to prevent distortion?
