Ive got a 241 with a crack in the case between the front output and the range selector. Im going to get it rewelded, but Im wondering if I should get it braced but welding in some more gussets or if the torque rod to the trans will be enough.

its way to easy to just get another complete case. junkyards are full of them. are you running the stock rod from the side of the case to the bellhousing?

Actually, its not easy to get a passenger drop case. I looked for months before finding one on here. The guy I bought it from said he didnt run a torque rod (which I think is why it cracked) and im swapping transmissions at the same time, so I dont have a rod, I was going to modify the one I have for the 700r4
