Brake Caliper Brackets, 14 Bolt.....$45 for CK5

Semi Floater Install Help.

Are you saying these will work with no mods on a SF? (other than the obvious) If so i'll be ordering a set in the next week or two.

The 1975 3/4T 4x4 front rotor does not fit the 14 bolt sf axle flange. The 4-bolt pattern on the axle housing is the same. Has any one else fully put rear discs on a semi floater using the "bent" brackets? I really don't want to order a kit from "TSMMFG" to find the rotor that fits.

No, these are for the Floaters. Some of the late 80's SF's will also fit but it goes on the inside of the axle flange....?

Hey Dan, My 14bsf is of the 84-87 type so I'll try to set up one side and see how it fits. I bought one right side caliper and one rotor to mock everything up. I tried to get the caliper to fit into both of the brackets and it didn't fit. I did buy the caliper from autozone. So do I need to get one from Napa or is some trimming required on the brackets.

Thanks

Did you get the 3/4 ton caliper? 4x4 front?

Over the last 3 months we have been getting these calls more often. When I designed these 5 years ago I bought 5 different calipers from 5 different parts stores. In those five we had 3 different casting houses represented and one of them was a touch tighter on the bracket but we had to make them snug for all the brackets so if you got that caliper you needed to remove the laser marks (about 1/32" total, 1/64" per side). I am starting to believe that the casting flash is getting worse and perhaps one of the other companies has gone out of business? Give me a call if it is more than 1/32"...

Hold everything.

I got curious about these after someone else called today. I had someone inspect every 14 bolt bracket in stock, about 380 of them. About 1/2 have are a different pattern? They are the same offset and the same pin spacing but they are about 1/16" tighter per side. We are fixing the bad ones as we speak but I have no idea of who got them. Instead of keeping old from new they were mixed right in, as a matter of fact someone took the time to redo the entire rack of brake brackets so I don't know when these started shipping.

If you have a problem with yours give me a call, we will happily replace them or give you some cash back for the trouble of removing the 1/16" on each side. I am very sorry for the trouble.

Hey Dan, did the brackets I sent you to cut to the proper width get there?

Was there a contest?

I never know when they will print articles, they called me a few months ago to be sure they had they're facts straight and said they were doing a review and writing an article. But when they say that it may never make print. Infact they usually have the sales guy make the call so they cal try and sell magazine advertising...Which I do not do...
