got a d60 for the frt of my blaze. looking for a replacement caliper mount to run the smaller 3/4t calipers. the only place I found them was blackbird trucks.com. they want $188 for the pair. anyone know of a cheaper alternative? I bought the disc conversion bracket for my rear 14bff from ballistic for $49, and the brackets look similar, other than having 6 bolts.

thanks, Lyle:confused:

brake conversion

ok, this is what I have. 76 k5 frame/running gear, 93 s10 blazer body. want to use the s10 mc. this is why I wanted to go with caliper conversion on front. i dont wanna spend the big $$$ for a hydro-boost system, or 1 ton calipers. would like to use the inexpensive 1/2, 3/4t stuff. But if I have to, I will pay the $188, and be done with it.

dont mind replacing rotors. my question was if anyone knows of any fab shops like (ballistic, diy, etc.) that make these brackets. I only found them at blackbird

I bought my 1 ton mc at oreillys for ~$30. You don't have to go hydro boost. It should bolt right up to your booster.

And for what its worth, i don't think a 3/4 ton calipers will help you out much at all over the d60 stuff. You really need to match the mc to the brakes to keep minimal pedal travel and get the best from what you have.

thats correct. s10 master will be smaller than 1/2 ton in bore size i bet. since s10 stuff has even smaller pistion than 1/2 & 3/4 ton stuff.

were not trying to make you spend money just get you the best bang for the buck is all.

and i got reman capilers for 50 each on my 60 at autozone . and look around for a used hydro boost from a 1 ton 2 or 4wd truck get the hoses and pump then bolt it up if it matches the bolt pattern on the firewall of the s10 cab.

thanks for the info. after a little research, I think I will use the 1 ton stuff. Anything special I need to do to run 4 wheel discs? will be using the 3/4 ton calipers on 14b ff rear, and the 1 ton calipers up front?
