after tracking down a diagram to finish up wiring up the column, I come to see that the brake light switch is wired to the direction switch on the 90' column (from my blazer). Now that I'm putting it in an older truck (82') do I just run the wire to the switch on the top of the brake pedal assembly?

If so, what are the two terminals, brake light switch and ground?

It would be power in/ out, just like a light switch, no ground. Power comes into the the switch but cant complete its circuit till you step on the brakes and complete the circuit. This sends the power through the loop to the taillights.

Btw, just pull the switch from your old pedal assembly. Its interchangeable. In fact im doing this now. Im using a harness from a 91 blazer in a 79 pickup. Im using the newer column to make it easy. Then all I have to do is wire up heating controls (real easy, kept the old ones, heat only) and splice in the headlight plugs for the different style lights. Made adapting everything real easy.

Just an fyi, it shouldnt matter what you wire as the hot/ switched. Will work either way.

Ben it is pretty simple, just a hot wire running into the switch, the other side goes out to the turn signal switch. Doesn't matter what year, they all work on the same basic principle, and they all run through the turn signal switch.

Coolio! :D

I got it all right there basically, just need to hook them up!

Thanks brothers

You need lot's more pictures of the wiring install, I want to see everything that you had to reuse, and what came in the kit. I am thinking this may save me a couple of weeks of downtime by using the kit.
