What do all the wires do?

I have power on both sides of the fuses, power to one wire on the front connector, the yellow wire, no power to the white wire when the switch is disconnected. I can't get my probe in deep enough (:haha:) to have it come on when it is connected to the brake switch ( female end probing into the connector)

No power on the back connector which consists of 2 gray wires and on gray with a black stripe but just 2 spades on the switch.

Got a new brake light switch. Both do the same, going out to sharpen my probe ( :haha::haha:) to see if I can probe the plug while it is hooked up.

Ideas?

OH the problem is no brake lights, fuse fine bulbs fine, turn signals work

I believe the switch should be a simple on off. Use a multimeter to check continuity. (Ohms)
If you need to use a test light to troubleshoot. Connect a 12v jump wire to one terminal of the switch and put your probe on the other terminal while activating the switch.
As far as wire colors, I don't have a schematic in front of me to help you.

:waytogo:good luck

Traced the problem to a couple wires that are in the turn signal switch loom.

Stupid previous owner cut them and spliced in stuff and at least 2 of the splices came loose.

Now off to find wires
