Brake line size dilema. -Now an E-brake question-

If you're not in a rush to solve the cable thing, I just ordered my driveshafts from High Angle and also got the driveline brake Greg mentioned. I had previously bought lengthened lines from inline tube that are currently not being used BUT I would kind of like to see where we end up if I'm going to have to pass some kind of inspection. If I don't need them I'll sell em to ya cheap if you're interested. Gonna be next July before we change duty stations though...
 
Yeah man, no rush at all.

This may be hard to explain but i have faith in my assumption that you guys already know what i am talking about.

The only piece of the cable i need is from the drum to where they each connect to the rest of the cables near the middle of the truck on each side. They slip through a braket and are held inplace by a small clip. When i pulled the rear end i just uncliped them and left the other ends connected to the drums.

But my plan is to just disconnect it from the drum and roll without e-brakes until i get around to getting cables or maybe never or maybe 1-tons with disks or Driveline brake or tie it them all in a big knot, ha ha....who knows.

But thanks, I am in zero rush so let me know if you dont need them whenever that may be.
 
Sounds good. I was thinking about running the eldo calipers until I found out how much they were + shipping out here to BFE. So I'll hang on to them until I can make sure I don't need them anymore for some type of safety inspection and if not they're all yours. I think I payed $120 for them two years ago, so it'll be cheap.

On a side note, why do some states require independent cables to both rear wheels? Heavy trucks like my Fedex truck use a drum on the back of the trans, so why can't my blazer? You would think the ability to lock all 4 wheels (in 4wd) would be better than just the rears. Not to mention that if one cable breaks then the equalizer will loosen the other side and it won't work at all...
School me if anybody knows the logic behind any of this.
 
I just meant that many medium-heavy trucks have used that type of brake for a long time. As for my Fedex truck, it's a 91 GM turd....:haha:
