I`m not getting fluid to my back brakes after installing a 14 bolt into my truck.

I had to replace 3/4s of the brake line going to the back as well.

On that valve, does that button need to be in or out for it to work?

Right now it is in. I was trying to bleed the brakes yesterday and got no fluid...but I never checked the valve at that time.

I took it for a drive on the yard and then the brake light on the dash came on. It wasn`t on before that.

Could it have reset itself?

You are talking about the combination (AKA proportioning) valve, not the height sensing one for the rear, right?

The button is supposed to be in. The light being on means it tripped. They are SUPPOSED to reset themselves, but apparently that isn't always the case, and tapping the nail head in can be required.

the light came on because the rear circuit is not bled correctly. they can be reset by a firm application after the problem is fixed.

Yeah that's what I was asking about. :thumb:

Thanks guys! Hopefully I can play with it tomorrow.

I don't think your truck has the height adjusting valve right?

I've had more trouble with those valves and bleeding, I tend to rip em out and put in an adjustable needle valve in the rear line....makes it easy that way.

Not sure if you can take em apart and clean it out? Might make it work a bit better as they can get gunked up w/ bad fluid over time as well.

No height adjusting valve on this pile Dave.

Got fluid to both back cylinders today by cracking the bleeders open and letting gravity do its job. Haven't bleed the air out yet. Ran out of time.
