My 91 jimmy had the brake light come on and stayed on about a week ago...
After looking for the obvious things , nothing seems wrong:dunno:

Tonight the light started flashing in a constant sequence of four times , a pause , four more... and so on

It also seems that the brakes have become super touchy now , just look at the pedal and they lock up:confused:

Does anyone have any idea what's up with the light and how touchy they are?

This truck is all stock as far as I know and has some sort of anti-lock system on it.

Any help would be appreciated as it is my only set of wheels right now :)

IIRC the light has two purpose's one to let you know when the e brake is on and second to tell you when the brake system is under 50%, so you might want to take a peak at the master cyclinder for fluid level, check hard lines for kinks or leaks and really just every line on the truck, if you dont find anything i would then bleed all four courners to make sure that fluid is getting to them, being a 91 i think the only difference is the t case not having a mech speedo but could be wrong

The light serves to indicate the parking brake is on, and also, if there is a problem with the computer controlled systems, to indicate which part is potentially the problem via a code. Sounds like it is giving you a code 44, but I didn't think that was something the system would do unless you used the paperclip trick to jumper ALDL connectors A&B.

In any case, probably a problem with the ABS system, just guessing based off of your symptoms.
